What is Coaching?

What is coaching?

Coaching gives you space to pause, think about your life, and explore what matters to you. It’s a conversation with someone who listens closely, asks thoughtful questions, and helps you turn what you discover into action.

You might be navigating a change, feeling stuck, or wondering what’s next. You don’t need a clear goal - or all the answers - to begin. Together, we explore what you want, what might be getting in the way, and how you’d like to move forward.

What can we work on together?

Coaching can help you find clarity, build confidence, make a decision, or follow through on something you’ve been putting off. We can explore relationships, boundaries, priorities, purpose, and the changes you want to make.

Perhaps you’re navigating empty nesting, a breakup, retirement, or a new direction. Or perhaps nothing dramatic has happened - you simply want more from your life. You don’t need a crisis to benefit from coaching.

Whatever brings you here, we begin with what matters to you.

Your life. Your direction.

Coaching is a partnership. I bring perspective, thoughtful questions, honest feedback, tools, and encouragement. You bring your experience, your curiosity, and your knowledge of yourself.

I may challenge an assumption or invite you to consider another perspective. Our conversations can help you recognize patterns, understand your values and priorities, and explore possibilities you hadn’t considered.

Your life belongs to you, and so do your decisions. We explore what fits you, then turn your insights into practical steps - with support and accountability to help you follow through.

How is coaching different from therapy?

Coaching focuses on personal growth, choices, goals, and action. Your past is welcome in the conversation, especially when it helps you understand the beliefs or patterns affecting your life today.

Therapy can support growth and goals too, while also providing assessment and treatment for mental health concerns and working with trauma. As your coach, I don’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions, and coaching does not replace mental health care.

We’ll talk about whether coaching fits your needs. If another kind of professional support would be more appropriate, I’ll let you know.
